How Does It Work?

How does a nitrogen machine make nitrogen?

Nitrogen machines have a component inside them called a nitrogen membrane. This membrane is made to capture nitrogen from the air. Compressed air is pushed through a set of polymer fibers, separating the nitrogen from the other molecules. Because nitrogen is a larger molecule than others that comprise air, it is trapped at the end of the membrane and pushed into your tire.

Because of the large size of nitrogen’s molecules, they’re also perfect for your tires, helping them to stay inflated properly even when outside temperatures fluctuate, such as in the summer or in the winter time.
